This week’s Speaker, Gha’il Rhodes Benjamin Is an Audelco award winning actor , Grammy nominated poet/spoken word recording artist, master teaching artist , self- empowerment speaker and the facilitator of varying workshops that empower uplift and encourage participants to speak their own voices forward. She is also the facilitator of ITAV ( It takes a village woman’s ministry) here at Unity of New York . Along with UNY’s Outreach ministry ITAV has supported families and organizations that serve the homeless and individuals with special needs in our community. Gha’ il has taken her power of the spoken word ministry to correctional facilities , the NFL, theatres , corporations, schools, shelters and universities around the USA and abroad .. including performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center , BAM, Carnegie Hall and The Apollo Theatre . Most recently Gha’il collaborated with students and faculty at the University of Cape Coast in Cape Coast Ghana . While visiting Ghana she was also blessed to perform on Stage at the National Theater of Ghana in Accra.
